Gonna be lots of work.....you will need to weld/bolt in some body mounts.
The frame needs to be long enough unless you are getting rid of the box. Even then it's going to look like a "funny car"....or should I say truck
I am not planning on doing this myself, but first wanted to see if it is possible. I am not too worried about the bed of the truck, I basically do towing. I would never think about changing it, but we had some addition to our family and we can not fit now. I love the truck and figured if I could spend a couple thousand adding a bigger cab, it would still be cheaper than buying another truck.
I have seen that done on a mid 70's ford pickup. If you aren't worried about having much bed space for carring stuff or resale value then go for it. Basically it will look like a full sized explorer sport trac. Probably have to make a custom wooden or steel bed or if real creative shorten a regular bed to give it a factory look.

That actually looks good. Ford is doing that now also with the shorter bed option for the crew cabs. I have a CC 6' box which I like but sometimes an 8' would be handy. I wouldn't want to go any less then 6'. I can't tell if they extended the bed length between the wheel and bumper of if it is stock, the shorter front section has got my proportioning off.

Yeah, I found this picture online a while back. My dad was wanting to put a CC body on a reg cab lb frame and this is what it'd look like. I don't thinkg the back of the bed has been lengthened, but maybe. The front is definately shorter. Looks more like a 4' bed that a 6'.
I'm planning on putting mine on a single cab long bed frame and then just making a custom flat bed for the back to carry a spare tire and recovery gear/tools
