Good FE junkyard in GA.

I am hunting for a junkyard in Ga that has at least a few FE's. I have been looking for a 390 crank for about 6 months now. None of the yards around here even know what a 390 is. Any help would be great.

Well Durk wecome to the South when it come to building an FE motor !! I spent 38 years out in SoCal..and have put guys spot on for FE parts at junkyards !! But I live here in VA ..and have for the last 17 years...and cant find Crap !!

But I would give Rockauto a call..I dont know if they have them in your area ? But they will ship... "IF" you cant find one else where ? I do know a couple of Guys in alabama not far..that have the cranks...but then again shipping ..as most dont want to ship...Its a pain in the azz !!

Try searching Craigslist around your area ! and see what you find...even go a few counties out you may find what your looking for... But here on the South east !! If your not a Chebby or MorParts freak..It sucks !! and I like to be different !

Good Luck !!

yeah it's been a pain. I tried all the local parts stores and they can all get a 390 crank, that is if you want a 360 crank. You know, I get the "it will drop right in there" deal. i have tried all the machine shops around here and they all just tell me that those motor are ancient. I am actually in south west Ga so Alabama is only a little ways off. The closest engine or crank I could find was in Waycross Ga which as the name implies is "waycross" the state from me and the guy thinks it's gold. He wanted $1200 for a rebuildable core. Anyways, 4:30am come too early so I better get to bed. Thanks Russ.

If all you need is a "crank/kit" and cant find one locally
PM me, I'm in SoCal but will part with one for a real fair price compared to that jackass!! I'm assuming you have got 390 rods ? Mine are at the machinist, could get the back, doubt he has done anything with them. They are cleaned up, but surely not checked/trued etc.. From the looks of them they only needed the big end done if that for a good daily runner

I finally found one. I lucked up on ebay and found one for $35 plus shipping which is $43. It was said to be a std. crank. Hopefully it is turnable. I don't know why I never thought to look on ebay.

Chad make damn sure you get some photos of 390 ID markings before you send any money. You know how everyone calls 352s & 360s 390s around here.

I have a 352 crank somewhere that I bought off Ebay for a 390 a few years back.

Late to the party here but every year there's a swap meet and show in Moultrie GA. It's held in mid Nov normally but you can find all kinds of mild to wild FE parts. Not to mention see some historic Fords at the show. When I was down in GA if I saw someone with a yard full of cars and trucks for sale I'd stop and poke around. And ask if they had any engines or parts as well. You'd be surprised what's still out there. I have a few contacts down there if you still need some parts. Send me a PM if interested.

I always go to the swap in moultrie. That is the reason for getting this truck going is so I can haul some parts back. It is kinda hard to use a 65 Falcon 2dr. sedan as a parts hauler. But now all I need is a cam and heads. I am going to buy the Edel heads and the rpm cam. If I think of anything else I will get with you.
