Exclamation Need Help Major oil problem

About a week ago I went out and was going to move my camper to a diffrent spot in the drive way I got all hooked up and went to ask the neibors to move there cars and looked back to see apx 2 qt of oil under the truck and it pouring out. So I took it and had it fixed (or so we thought ) they said it was the o-ring on the 11/16th bolt on the back of the HPOP and i had a wire that was bad on the valvcover wiering harnes. Got it back and it ran great. We ended up hooking the camper up to go camping about 20 miles from home towed the trailer just fine got to the camp ground and no leaks.... July 4th went up to the bath house got out and noticed it was oil again. so i call one of my friends and have them bring me a 11/16th socket and another o-ring get that one in and it is tight and dry and running fine... So on the 5th get all hooked up to the camper to bring it home and start coming back to the house and about 7 miles down the road we start smelling somthing burning and figure it is juist residual oil burning off from the last time. at about mile 10 start to notice a haze behind me so i pull over at a gas station and you guessed it mor oil this time i had lost about 5 qt all down the sides of the camper so by this point i am tired of messing with it but i go ahead and call another friend that has a shop in town and see if he can bring me a 11\16th socket and o-ring and he dose and get it fixed but decide to be on the safe side to have the camper towed by a towing company all good and fine so i limp the truck home after filling with oil and went to the local shop today (3miles away) and get back home and more oil puking out oil out the same spot. Dose any one know what is going on thanks this is on the 2000 in signiture

Are you sure its coming from the same spot? If it is, there has to be a problem with the threads on that bolt. Otherwise, there has to be another leak somewhere.

That sounds like a lot of oil.
Can you verify where it is leaking from?
If you think it is the HPOP,there are a couple fittings as well as a "non servicible plug that will leak.(but it is serviceable)
Verify the source of the leak and we can go from there.

have you been putting some sil-glyde or something like that on the o-rings when re-installing?

You have to remove the plug and let all the oil drain from there. Then using a bunch of rags and Q-tips, along with some brake cleaner, get the threads in the HPOP just a little bit cleaner than spotless.

Put some oil or dressing on the new o-ring, then use some lock tite on the threads. This is the procedure SpringerPop followed when he fixed his leak with the wrong kind of o-ring, and his has been leak free for a couple of years. Also make sure there are no burrs or scarred surfaces that might be damaging the o-ring.

What type of o-ring are you using? I had the same leak and tried various rubber, nitrile, and another type off the shelf from auto parts stores. None held up, and all failed within a few miles so I popped the $30 or so for the kit from Ford parts counter.(Comes in a pack of 3 to reseal that part of the hpop) If I remember correctly it's a brownish-pink o-ring.(Viton?) That did the trick.

+1 on sealing the threads. If you don't, the oil pushes past the threads and forces the o-ring out.

You need LocTite 680 and be sure to let it cure for an hour before subjecting it to pressure.

Viton is the correct material. You can buy those same 3 orings, along with a packet of lock tite for $10 from Guzzle. According to SpringerPop, the #680 lock tite does the trick even when using the wrong o-ring.

Things have to be perfectly oil-free. Use brake cleaner or equivalent on both male and female threads, and LOCTITE (can I say this enough??)! THAT is what keeps the fittings on the HPOP from leaking.

I believe the original design called for sealing with o-rings, and International found it wouldn't hack the mission at those pressures. That's when they introduced the LocTite, which it what truly seals the fittings and plugs.

You are just blowing out the new o-rings, over and over, without it.

There, I think I've said it.

LocTite. Don't seal HP oil without it.

Edit: Oh, yea, one last thing, never try to "tighten" a fitting that isn't leaking, "just in case", because you'll break the LocTite and START a leak!

And my rear plug, the one with the o-ring made of the wrong material, still isn't leaking, over two years later.

Those Viton o-rings are still in the center console.

After you get the hole cleaned, check for cracks in the housing. I have heard of that causing some of these types problems also. Rare but possible.
