Dana 50 TTB Fluid Change?

Just wanted to ask what the proper proceedure is to change the fluid in a TTB differential? I have worked on rear diffs both 8.8 and 10.25, but I have never worked on the frond diff other than pulling the fill plug to make sure it had lube. Do you have to separate the diff housing from the axle, or is there a way to drain it otherwise?

Thanks,
TC

I have a Dana 50 but haven`t changed the fluid, from info on here most guys suck the old fluid out.

Lazy K,
Thanks for the reply. That is what I figured on doing, but I found elsewhere a few suggestions for drilling the bottom of the diff and adding a drain plug. I guess I will decide which route to take when the time comes. I don't really want to put a lot of effort in the TTB as I hope to be able to swapt it out for a D60, hopefully sooner than later.

Thanks,
TC

From what I`ve read on here some guys seem to be able to use a turkey baster to suck the fluid out.

I hear that some people have used a grease suction gun as a method to extract the old fluid from the TTB dana 50? What other methods have worked? I believe the idea is to go as far down as possible with the hose (after the front differential fluid has warmed up a bit) towards the bottom of the front differential housing itself to extract old fluid.
