Well all my research is over and I decided to go with a 150 FX4. My original plan was to get 18" 'LT' tires as opposed to 20" 'P' tires, but my searches only yielded one match and that was sold the same day we located it. I'll post the full specs, pics, and price breakdown later in the week. Basic info is Sterling Gray FX4 SCREW w/6.5' bed. I am supposed to take delivery tonight, so baring any unforseen circumstances I'll be driving my new truck before the sun sets!
My bro-in-law hooked me up with a D plan pin, so my deal is sweet with the incentives and 0% (I love 'free' money). tough to concentrate at work while I wait for 6pm.
Thanks to everyone who provided insight and advice as I mulled over my 150/250 decision.
The sterling grey is a really nice color- it's how I ordered my F250 to be painted. It hides dirt really well, yet looks amazing when freshly washed. Congrats on the purchase!
I remember you really doing your homework with the F150/F250 decision. I'm confident you mide the right choice. Post up some pics, maybe a pic of that "Tire & Loading Sticker" if you don't mind. I'm curious of what it specs out at.
By my math this is 19.36% off sticker. I also go the 0% financing for 3 years.
The truck has these options: Sony Nav Radio, Chrome step bar, Moon roof, Max Trailer Tow, Pickup Box access step, Tailgate step, 20" OWL All-terrain, Aluminum wheels, Brake controller, sync, electronic rear view mirror w/microphone, reverse sensing system, sport leather captains chairs, heated seats (although does black really need to be heated?)
Some stuff I did not want: 20s, access steps, tailgate step. There are nice to haves in my mind, but oddly enough these three things are what the 'minister of finance' is most pleased with.
I promise to try and get pics tonight. This is an awesome truck to drive; way better than my 2002 screw. I cannot get over the room in the back.
It is my understanding that D-plan is available to Ford employees and their relatives. It gives you invoice price right from the get-go. Rebates and incentives are on top of this. If you work at Ford you should be able to get a D-plan PIN.
Copy cat. Just kidding I don't blame you. We have very similar taste. Our trucks are nearly identical. I didn't order the 20's, side steps, or running boards. But I did get the remote start and bed extender.
One big dealer near me has almost all Platinum's in stock. Probably 75% Platinum, most of the remainder are Lariat, and I think I might have seen one XLT. I questioned this strategy in light of the soft economy, and the rep just said they are hot sellers. Haven't personally seen an FX4 anywhere.
