I punched the VIN from the frame on what surely looks like a "highboy", (narrow frame, divorced 203 transfer case, ram assist power steering, 4 inch spacer blocks in the rear spring pack) into the FTE vin decoder and it outputed that it was a 78 F250 4wd, engine unknown.
The vin is F26YLBO6757. All prior info tells me that it is a 73-77.5 truck. What gives?
I wouldn't trust that Vin Decoder....
OK,I decoded your VIN,If I am wrong,Someone will correct me.

No 360s after 1976...
The O you have is a 0
Vin decodes as a 1976 F250 4WD Pickup built at the Michigan Truck plant in December 1975 and powered by a 8 cyl 360 cid 2-bbl engine.

How many times have you been told this? Unless you know all the correct info, don't decode anything!
Bullitt is correct, the letter "O" is incorrect. The letter "O" never appeared on the 7th digit. It should be the number zero, "0".
The 0 vs O is my fault. I had that question in my mind whether it was a letter or a number and I chose letter because I have another vin number that has an unmistakable "C" in the seventh spot so assumed that they all were letters.
Anyway, thanks again, it clears up a lot of confusion with my truck.
