Trans lube

I was just wondering if there was a better lube out there, other than the recommended auto trans fluid, for my 96 F150, 4.9, 5spd, 4x4, my truck has 221000 miles on it and i was just wanting to put something better than plain tranny fluid in it

Not sure I understand your question. What kind of benefit are you expecting from "better" transmission fluid?

Well my truck has over 220k on it and nothing has been done to the trans, and i was just wondering if i could use something that will keep my trans going for another 200k basically im wondering if theres a lube that helps to reduce the wear on high mileage trannies

Not that I know of. Just keep the fluid fresh and it will last as long as it will last.

Just one more question, is there any additives???? also i heard of a gear lube made by TRC (texas refinery co) Its a red lube that can supposedly be used in my trans, and in applications were regular gear lube is required. do you know anything about it
