Angry code trouble helllpp please

hey guys i have a 89 that i put a new motor in had the trans rebuilt. also i bought a mass airflow kit for the bronco threw summit and ever since i put in the new computer, the check engine light has been on. i was checking the codes the other day and the first one that comes up says "purge canister circuit sollenoid failure". there are another two codes that came up and i had looked them up in the book and they are codes for the e4od transmission and they dont pretain to the regular aod tranny which i have. what can i do to get rid of this check engine light so i can go to inspection guys please help if u can

Where did you get the computer from?

The purge canister circuit is for that little valve between the throttle body and the carbon vapor cansister for the gas tank. It probably isnt hooked up or has eventually failed.

The E4OD codes are going to be the hardest to get them to away. Was this a computer that came with the truck, or one that you picked up somewhere?

sounds like you got a mass air computer from a newer bronco or f150. that would explain both the e4od codes and the purge code since your 89 doesnt have that setup/sensor.

you should be running a mustang mass air computer in conjunction with the kit you bought.

i bought the whole thing as a kit. the computer the mass air sensor a harness for the injectors all through summit. there were two options in this kit manual trans or automatic years did not make a difference. to tell u the truth i think that the whole wiring harness for the motor is from a 351w that was just a 1990 that had a e40d trans. but the computer is not from the 351 its the one that came with the mass air kit

what tranny do you have?

the e4od codes you can ignore, they will not cause any driveability issues. as for the purge code might have to check out fordfuelinjection.com to see how you can get that turned off.
