I have the CC,LB.. It is a pain in the **** to park anywhere close to a door, nothing is made for the swing of my truck, and in several area's I may have to pull in and out a couple of times to get in there. Backing in is always easier.. I wouldnt change a thing.. and have never regreated having her.. I LOVE my truck..
Agree 100% I however need the exercise with the longer walks to the door. I like it, and would buy another one in a heartbeat.
CC all the way. I could never imagine having a truck without it. I always park in the back, and yes, backing in is a lot easier. Easier getting out too.
CC SB truck is the same length as a SC LB.
My next truck will most likely be a 150, but whatever it is, it will definitely be a crew cab!
cc, i like being able to put a five gallon bucket on the floor board in the rear on the cc versus on the seat with the ec. i will admit after running the work truck f250 ec sb, then getting into my truck f250 cc sb i have curb checked it. it is all what you get used to though.
I have found that the crew cab is bigger than the super cab. If you need more space in the cab, it is a good choice.
My truck needs to go places, offroad, and I cannot afford the wheelbase. ECSB is what fits my needs. More often then not, I wish I had a long bed, but I would not be able to give up the EC for a standard cab. I need to be able to go through some tightish manuevers offroad for work.
Only you know if it's worth it or not, and if you haul a family around a lot and need the room. I know I love my CC and wouldn't have anything less, but the whole family and our stuff is in a lot. If I just hauled around friends, I sure as heck wouldn't go out and buy a new truck just to haul friends around in, they can get their own.
I lol'd at the parking comment. Parking is a pita, you won't be parking up front or in between cars. You park in the back and walk, which isn't a bad thing for me. And if it's really tight parking, backing in is the best choice. I don't normally take it in to the city if I know I'm parking in a garage. It'll fit inside, it's just not fun to find a spot I can get it in; again, I just head to the top where there's room.
My wife was really pissed when I bought my truck , kept commenting on how we don't need it, how huge it is, blah, blah blah
She finally said the other day, "This is a pretty good truck." But that's all I can get her to admit.
Plenty of leg room for the kids (with my seat all the way back!). Also, the added pillar in the middle of the cab adds to the structural rigidity of the body when off-roading (if you do that sort of thing). My dad had an extra cab GMC 2500 and he used to complain of all the rattling that the cab did with the suicide doors.
I asked because I'm thinking I may trading for a CC as I have a family of 5 including myself and my wife. We all fit in the truck just fine at the moment as the oldest is 6 but then again I've been seriously thinking about getting my wife a 7.3l 10 passenger van as my wife will need a lift for our disabled daughter. I figured that a 10 pass will give her more then enough room for anyone and anything and if my truck breaks down I can have her come out and I can tow my own truck home Plus they'll be the same powerful reliable motors and I won't have to know a bunch of different things about a bunch of different rigs.
It's a thought and I've always loved the way the CC looks though I think parking will be fun with a CC LB as I already stick about a foot or two out of parking spaces here. Backing up isn't an issue. If I absolutely had to I could drive a vehicle in reverse. My wife says that I make her sick due to the fact that I can back up so well. I can squeeze my truck into spaces that some would not dare to venture because of my backing skills. It might have something to do with all the time I've spent on car lots and on a fork lift.
Then again on the other hand I hate to give up a vehicle that I've gotten so used to. I know the quirks of this truck, I know what needs to be done to it and what has been done to it.
I wish that I had a CC now but at the time I had to have a vehicle and the truck was exactly what I wanted and the price I wanted to pay so thats what I have now but definitely would have liked to have a Crew for me wife and kids.... but still love my truck like it is .....
I'd say crew cab long bed, those three kids will get real big real quick and the room the CC affords is well worth giving up being able to park in certain places. We have three boys and two girls(both grown and out of the house) but the three boys can sit cross legged in the back and still have a foot between their knee's and the back of the front seats, I really love my crew cab.

Hmmm, seems like you have needs greater than just a truck.
Or maybe need both.
A 7.3 E250 would be a great vehicle platform for a wheel chair kit. Lots of room and you could pull a camping trailer with it too if you ever had the need(want).
Yea, agreed. Believe it or not I got into this truck by chance or maybe someone was looking over me but for years I've been driving around a 2000 Saturn SL2 sedan and the winters up here are horrible with a front wheel drive that weighs in at no more then 2K lbs.
So basically here is what happened that led me to get this truck...........
I had been without a truck for about 3 or 4 years, was tired of borrowing people's trucks that were maintained as if no one cared.
I could not see around the snow berms at intersections and had to depend on people keeping their vehicles clean enough to see reflections off them so that I might be able to see a reflection of a vehicle that was behind them.
When entering an intersection I was taking my life into my own hands as this little sedan could barely move on snow, ice or compact snow and ice.
If you spun the front out of control for to long you were taking a chance of flinging a pin out of the trannie and destroying the 4K trannie on a 3K car.
Being hit by a larger vehicle needless to say would have left me kissing his/her tires.
So I started looking around for a truck. I found a old chevy that was having some work done, they wanted 9K. I found some other Ford trucks but a friend of mine had warned me against the 6.0's and that is all that I could find on the local lots that was any where near my price range. So I talked to the sales guy there and he thought that he might have known of a truck that hadn't been detailed yet or even gone through. I told him that I would love to look at it and I preferred a truck that had not been touched yet.
So I test drove it and found that it needed a new clutch, shocks, rims and tires. Later by finding you guys on this site I realized that I should have checked the WW for dusting. Fortunately my WW is not dusted badly but you can see that it is dusted some what, very little. Later I also had to get the brake booster replaced because it was leaking onto my exhaust manifold but other then that it's just been maintenance and modifications. I can also see around snow berms now and in 4 wheel drive I leave the idiot behind in the snow.
Needless to say I'm very happy with my truck but I was just thinking... What if I could find a nice CC LB, but then again I can't really afford much at this time so it'll have to do for at least a while. Then again I might just stick with what I have and not go with a longer wheel base.
With 3 kids, I would definitely go with the CC. I have a 03 F350 CC Dually and I love it. I pull a 30 foot 4 horse gooseneck trailer, and the extra length wheelbase (plus DRW) makes it much more stable than anything I've ever towed with before...and it rides a lot smoother than all the shortbeds I've had. Not to mention I don't have to worry about the nose of my trailer blowing out the back window anymore in a tight turn! People love riding in the back seat. They are amazed by how roomy and comfortable it is and how nice the ride is. Gives you a lot of extra room for gear, too, when you go camping and stuff like that.
