Nice! Wish I lived near by. I'd come help ya test drive it
It will be nice to have a new engine up a running! Maybe one day I'll be fortunate enough to be able to do what you have but hopefully no time soon. So far my baby is running well and I plan on keeping it that way but when the time comes this baby is going to get a full manicure
So what mods have you done since pulling the engine? I'd be modding the crap out of it!!!
have a four inch exhaust, turbo got a wicked wheel, but it's early 99 so that's stock really, shift kit in tranny, and regulated return fuel system with tank mods. That's what's on the board till more money magically appears.

Yea, I know the feeling. All in good time I suppose
Sorry to be negative, but if they messed up on installing the main bolt with the stud in the wrong place, wonder what else they *****ed up? Stroken bought (well, i bought) a remanufactured shortblock off ebay for cheap, that had some horrible blow by issues.
Blue CPS is from me troubleshooting the truck long ago before I realized the motor was crap (back when blue was still fashionable). Factory is still running around somewhere, just needs me to find it and put on o-ring on it. It'll be the spare.

Do you know the seller you bought that block from. Just to compare note and make sure I didn't end up with the same one.
Nothing. Just has to do with how many parts are included with the purchase.
Same horse power? same TQ? Same burn just different parts? Maybe I'm thinking of a short stroke vs a long stroke not a long block vs a short block, maybe I need to go back to bed and get up when my mind decides it wants to RTFM and pay the &*^% attention
shortblock=crank,mains,rods,pistons and I think cam
longblock=shortblock+heads,valvetrain.
Longblock took LONGER to build. Hint, hint. ;-)
both are the same from 94-end of production except the 97 and older need a plug knocked of the valley out so the mechanical fuel pump can be driven off the cam. it's not until you start bolting thing's on till there's really any difference between any year ford, and the eninge in the nearest UPS truck or whatever. except for the whole powdered metal rod thing, but I don't think many ppl rebuild with those.
why would anyone rebuild with inadequate equipment? Seriously? Ford should have never put them in except that if you think about it then it's a great idea from a sales stand point. Powder rods = less money to produce = broken w/to much power = more sales
anyhow. I guess I have some to learn and I'll learn more in the future when I go to rebuild one of these bad boys since I want to keep mine running until they come up with electric cars or HHO cars that allow you to make your own fuel, so it'll be a while before I get rid of mine.
