I've searched the forums, however, still need some assistance decoding the front axle tag. It reads as follows: FT 50 E41A NA 610198-15. The rear (if needed) is: WDMBK2 4J04 3 50 9 S31. Via the forums the rear appears to be a 3.50 non LS. Does any one know if a LS was offered in the front axle? If the front axle is a Dana 50 would a 44h/d be preferable? Thanks.
Ford did offer a limited slip option in the front. The Dana 50 has the same center section as the Dana44hd, but the Dana 50 has larger balljoints and a larger 4x4 hub.
The 50 absolutely does not have the same center section as a 44, the gears and bearings are larger.
Neither of them is what you have, they are both F250 stuff, you have a standard F150 44TTB with 3.50 gears and an open diff, matching the open 9" you have out back.
