Guys
I have just gotten back to my 77 restoration. never done this before. I have taken the front single piston calibers off and the rotors are rusted and pitted but lok to be new. the pads had alot of wear left in them.and the inner and outer walls on the rotors very thick. this ntruck has not been run in three years! Also before I go taking the front 4X4 assembly apart free wheeling I want to make sure I have all the tools that I will need. Will I need that special axel nut socket that the haynes manual talks about. I don't want to take this apart and not have everything I need so that I can immediately start putting it back together.
Thanks acc2828
If it was me I would wire brush the rotors and reuse them. If you are concerned however you could get them turned on a lathe.
I would get the wrench for the wheel bearing nuts, makes life a lot easier.
Just my opinion.
You will need the axle nut socket to pull that off.....i'd get new rotors if it were me, they're pretty darn cheap for those years and brakes aren't something to mess with
