C6 questions
I have an '88 F-150 with a 351W and 4x4.
I recently changed the filter on the tranny. Since that time I'm noticing a whining noise and some minor slippage.
Come to find out, the original filter on my tranny was from a 2WD. Once I put the 4x4 version in I started having trouble.
I have the replacement filter now. It is for the 2wd version since it was working great with that before I put in the 4x4 version.
Why would it have a 2wd filter in it? Since I bought the truck used, I'm wondering if the tranny or something else is wrong. I can't understand why the 4x4 filter didn't match up.
Also, how do you drain the converter?
