I pulled an equipment trailer with two bobcats on it. I weighed just over 20k. That was on the rear hitch and not a gooseneck. I did it just fine, set the cruz on 65 and just went. I had good trailer brakes though and air bags on my truck. I think your truck will be fine. I would start with making sure you have good trailer brakes!!. I would then worry about the trans, air bags and then the gears in that order. If your driving a long trip i doubt you are going to be stopping and starting a whole lot, so I wouldnt worry about the gears till you have the money. Make sure you keep that trans cool though!!

Leagally, no.
Others have given their input as to whether or not the truck is capable, and I won't get into the whole safety lecture. But I know truckers who swear at the hot-shot pick-up guys hauling way overloaded and wreck taking many, many lives with them. You may not have to stop often, but in a panic, you better be able to halt quickly.

Personally, if I had to haul 3 cars on that trailer with that truck, I'd make sure the trailer brakes are kept up and adjust the controller and hit the road. If you're hauling SUV's, pick-ups, etc, only carry 2 vehiclesto keep the weight down, like one SUV/p'up and one car.
Make the run a few times and see if you need to upgrade the gears to 4:10.
If it works out for you, consider an intercooler and larger injectors.

Oh, and another vote for the biggest trans cooler you can afford. I read somewhere that for every 30* in trans temp you drop, you double the life of the trans.

Would you haul 3 cars with that. Here I was thinking one off those car haulers that was stepped. One row on top off one.

i only plan on hauling 2 cars or 2 small pickups (rangers or s10's)on it. i doubt i'll ever have fullsized trucks or suvs on it. if so i'll have to pull with my dad's dually. its a cheby 454 that can really chug gas.

One of our race car trailers is a 36 foot flatbed goosneck and I haul 2 of our fairlanes and a golfcart sideways on it when I don't take my car to the track. I have 3 inches in front of the front car, 3 inches b/w golfcart and both cars, and back car is just on the flat surface on the deck. It's a full trailer but I pull it with just the few mods I have listed below and 3.55 gears( although I am switching to 4.10 because I pull even bigger trailers often) and run 70 or 75 with no issues. My pickup is also loaded with a generator, tools tires, etc. It's a little load on long hills but does fine.

Nice looking trailer. I don't understand why 2 jacks aren't standard.

jleal_21,
The axles are pretty far back on the trailer. That's going to really load the back of your truck even with a couple small cars. I've seen a couple trailers like that one. They had another set of holes in the frame so the axles can be moved forward or back depending on your needs.

That is just like mine except 2 feet shorter. Works fine for me. Truck seems to haul it with no real issues. I never looked for holes to move axles forward. Should check for curiosity if nothing else.

Darin, You running air bags too. I just looked at the load you haul....I guess if you get enough behind the trailer axle you can sorta balance it out.

No air bags. Completely stock suspension. I've been thinking about air bags though. I looked into them and they aren't that pricey and would be a good idea for me means all I do with my truck is pull big trailers. I know if my wallet would just fill up easier I'd have the gears and air bags already. Money is real tight now so I will survive with what I have for now.
