and you should never go over 16 or 17 with a ford truck, it looks like crap.
Personally, I would say yes. There is not enough room behind the seat for that and then to be able to put the seat all the way back.
The regular cab trucks don't have quite enough leg room as it is and if the seat has to be moved forward for speakers then I say they are over done.
I don't have subs anymore because of this. I had 2 10s for a little while and the seat couldn't go all the way back. They got stolen, which I am actually glad happened. I don't listen to hip hop crap anyway. I never cranked mine up anyway. So, I don't care about subs.
I don't see the point to excessive subs. Maybe an 8 in the center behind the seat, so you can still put stuff behind the seat.
I like the Mach 460 system in our 97 Cobra and the Bose system in our Maxima.

my seat is one click away from all the way back?? not enough room? im a big guy at 6"1' and 290+ and i have plenty of room...just a lil info too
country music hits harder than rap...and rock sounds better than either...
My seat is all the way back and i want 1 more click. I'm 6' 200 lbs. Having it forward an farther sucks.
I agree. I basically only listen to rock and most of it is classic or from 90s on back. I hate 90 percent of modern music.
I just don't care for overpowering bass. I like full range sound. I have a pair of the pioneer truck rider speakers behind the seat. They are pretty small and don't affect the seat at all.
idk. i guess your model truck doesnt have as much room? but i have plenty at 6"1' in my 86?
and i do agree with overpowering bass, thats why i keep mine at negative 8 and my bass **** turned almost all the way down, i get just enough thump for different types of music, the only time i crank it is when idiots try to be cool and blast me out...
I don't think the cab from 80-96 really changed at all. It should be the same size. I just want more room. That is really the only thing I would change about my truck. I wish the cab was 1 inch longer.
I dunno, it depends on how they're used. I have a friggin 18" sub in a big 2' cube of a box in my bronco (not so easily acheined in a pickup...). Of course I don't listen to rap, country, or much rock. Industrial hits harder than all of those
It's all in how its used, I know other people don't necessarily wanna hear what I'm listening to so I only blast on the freeway and when I'm way out now that I've grown up a little.
Something cool about watching the smoke move in the cab when that giant cone is moving, not to mention the complimentary back massage. Big subs have a point; reproducing very low frequencies without distorting under lots of power.
Giganto wheels however, what of value does that do??
I am having problems getting 20" and over rims to fit on my 1984 ford because of the bore size of the hub or whatever you want to call it sticks way out and its huge how do i get around this
