I was having a horrible day at work yesterday and only had a few minutes between that and going to school to take my final exam in a macro economics course. On the way to class I found a few extra minutes to go and blow off some steam. So I cranked the radio up and hit a few dirt roads on the way to a little trail by the river. It had rained over an inch the day before and I expected the trail to be muddy. When I turned off the road and onto the path I could see puddles in the tire tracks and almost backed out knowing it is kind of deep through the first part, but I hit it anyways. I almost got stuck twice, but it is amazing how getting the old truck dirty can make a bad day turn good. Just thought I would share, just incase any of you guys and girls are having one of those days.
Oh yeah, Shooting off illegal fireworks helps too. God bless America and fireworks stands with backrooms!
I agree, there's nothing better than tearing up some muddy ground when you're pissed off.
Only problem is getting stuck can make your crappy day even worse! I'm a tow truck driver and if someone calls me for a recovery, they are looking at a minimum of $120+tax and mileage. This is why it pays to have friends with 4x4s that can pull you out.

Which is why the first real mod I want to do to my '95 farm/work/driver since I got it is going to be adding closed loop tow hooks to the front of it. Just as soon as I've got the scratch.
Of course, the whole thing about putting the transfer case to good use isn't unique to us truck owners. For most of us who would call ourselves "enthusiasts," our trucks range somewhere between hobby and mechanical lover. The feeling we get from kicking up a little mud is probably the same kind of feeling model plane builders get from flying their projects, or that hobby-carpenters get from working in their shop.
I am proud of the fact that I have NEVER washed my truck :-) that is if you don't count wiping it down with a broom when it was covered in mulch. Beaters are great
i could count more days than not that my blue truck sat parked right in front of the school against the curb all day covered in mud to the point that you could not tell it was blue...damn did i get some looks jumpin in and out of that before and after school! windows rolled down and all you could see was wiper streaks on the windshield, HA good days good days, i miss my truck
