9-11 City

12-14 Highway

Some are higher, some are lower. It mostly depends on how you drive it.

Here's a data base that a few use to track mileage...and for those of you that might want to start tracking your data.
http://www.fuelly.com/car/ford/excursion

And an extra $10k for diesel on something used? I hear a chain being yanked...or he must have $3000 V10 Excursions.

i believe it, when i was looking early this year the diesel excursions were selling for $18-26k and the V10s are around $11-14k not as big of a differance but close enough. thats why i ended up with a v10 well also the fact i couldnt find a nice 7.3

Mpg

We've been averaging around 15 mpg overall, 70% of our driving is highway. I did gain a couple mpg when I installed a K&N air filter, I was skeptical but we consistently get more miles out of a tank now on both vehicles.

All Excursions are "used vehicles" now, obviously.

Nowhere in the USA does a diesel sell for $7,000 more on the low end, and $12,000 on the high end.
There must be some pretty shady dealerships, private sellers or crazy values in Alaska.

A more realistic figure should be $3,000 on the low end, and $4,000 on the high end.

That is what they are going for at auction differences right now in the Western states (Utah, Wy, Id). About $8K difference between the two with similar miles.

Seems like there's an opportunity for a road trip out toward the Midwest and East then...

We've been trying to sell our 2000 7.3l diesel EX since December. NOT ONE PERSON HAS EVEN LOOKED AT IT. We are now only asking $10000 which is what most Wee-10's are selling for. All I get are phone calls with idiots trying to buy it for less without even looking. WTF I'll drive it up to AK and fly home if someone is willing to pay 8-10 thousand more than I'm even asking.

then they must be crazy, our prices have allways been higher.

i searched for alittle over a month looking for a limited 7.3, then dropped to looking for a limited V10 in my price range. i could not find a one! they all wanted a crap ton of money for them. i finally found my loaded 2004 xlt v10 for close to my target price of $12,000. i could not afford to get somthing much more then that.

heres 2 i'll show you and its pretty much how it goes, price differance wise across the board in this state.

2004 limited v10 52k miles asking $16,900 and has been on there since before i bought mine and no change in price.
http://anchorage.craigslist.org/cto/1266411914.html

2005 limited 6.0 55k miles asking $28,000 and its also been on there for awhile.
http://anchorage.craigslist.org/cto/1246934272.html

i know there is a year differance between them, but it gives you the idea pretty quick.
