I would of never guessed that ford made a thicker frame for the lightning. Thats some very interesting data. Thanks for taking the time to post that

I can tell you from experience that there is daylight to dark difference in the two trucks. I've owned several '92 - '96 F150's and one '93 Lightning and the Lightning will put a smile on your face that you can't wipe off. Along with the performance of the truck (15.5 sec 1/4 mi) you get the added bonus of handling that in its day was superior to a Mustang. The 5.0 Mustang had a slight advantage in the 1/4 mile but on a slalom course the Lightning was the winner. In fact, Ford advertised the truck as a "Mustang with a Pickup Bed". I still own a couple of '92 - '96 trucks now and enjoy them but everyone needs to experience a Lightning sometime.
