Well, after pulling my travel trailer out from its spot to give it a good cleaning over, I noticed my rear sags just a bit on my truck. I haven't had the chance to hook up the weight distribution bars but my truck does sit level when nothing is put in the back. I,m thinking some F-350 blocks would help me and where could I get a pair of these without breaking the bank, would even consider a trade if somebody wanted to downsize or hook one of yaa up if you had them laying around, let me know..Thanks.. Also, my front swaybar bushings are shot, will be ordering them any day now and getting them done.. So, those are the two main things for now I can think of for a safe and enjoyable trip. Anybody else have some "To-Do's" before the RR East event..??
I need new rotors. Mine are warped again. I am going to have to shunt some funds off before the trip. I just drove down to DC with about 800lbs in the bed and another 500 or so inside the truck and once they got hot, I was shuddering like crazy. I HATE that. It's one of the main reasons I got rid of my Z71.
Mike, Air bags are the way to go. You decide how much height is needed when loaded and little when empty.
Got a link Barry, air ride is nice thats for sure??? I don't do that much towing, maybe 2 or three time a year depending on funds so I was thinking some 350 blocks would be good enough. Just seen your post Jason, maybe a break upgrade to Hawk rotors and pads?? You won't have to worry about the stock stress then..
- driver side ball joints and camber bushing
- new Bilstein HD shocks on all four corners
- front 2" leveling kit
- swap out oil bypass filter housings (I'm getting a larger one and putting the existing one on my Excursion
- change oil & filters
- Ranger A/C valve and tubing hookup
- extra rear backup lights
- change fuel filters
- ...???
-Front sway bar end links on the way from Ed. Tired of the banging under my feet.
-Intercooler boots on the way from Clay (Riffraff). I got the 6.0 intercooler, decided to get it installed before the trip since I have time and the desire.
-Front brake pads need replacing.
Other than that I should be good. I do want to re-organize my tools in the tool box, they are just kind of strewn about right now.
The other stuff I'm hoping to get help from at the event! I.E. fuel tank pick up and pre-pump filter mod and the tank vent cut-off mod; and the HPX line.
Mike... I already have a set of 2" blocks i am going to use, but i am taking my 4" blocks off, you come get them, you can have them, and we can even put them on here.. let me know
I have to pull a trailer with signs and hay bails in the 4th of July parade Saturday. I need to do that too. oh those poor unfortunate souls on the passenger side of the parade route might get some soot....
