ARB (when engaged) will not allow for turning....it in essence becomes a spool. It is a great idea being able to disengage it if turning is required, but now you have to hope it disengages when you want it too.
Detroit also makes a wide selection for the front that does not require any kind of compressor etc. They offer an ez locker all the way to the full blown hardcore lockers.
I personally would not want a locker on the front differential. It's just too hard to control. Just my opinion. Tried it and didn't like it. It was a handful. It went pretty much where it wanted to go.
No first hand experience but I researched this some time ago and the most recommended product seems to be the Detroit Tru-Trac. It can be ordered from Randy’s Ring & Pinion who have some very knowledgeable people to assist with the selection process.<O</O <O</O
I would get a selectable locker, I wouldn't want even a TruTrac limited slip in front on ice. I plan to do an E-Locker when I have the extra money, that way I don't have to add air just for the locker.

It does make it difficult to turn...that's for sure. That is where the twin stick transfer cases become a necessity. No way to convert these.
As a guy who runs dual ARB's and has driven with twin stick cases I have no idea what you are referring to.
When you get to a sharp turn you switch the ARB off. Then turn it back on if you need to.
I don't mess with the t-case.

That's why some of us are recommending an ARB or =.
I referred to the transfer case on these trucks as NON convertible to a twin stick option like the NP205 was able to be converted.
If you've driven a twin stick, then you know you can disengage the rear or front to remain locked, yet make unbelievable turns to correct your path of travel.
