I am thinking of adding an intercooler to my 97, and am wondering which would be better one from a 7.3 with aluminum ends or one from a 6.0 with plastic ends. Thanks in advance. Tom
The 6.0 intercoolers do flow a bit better than the 7.3 ones do. But you really aren't going to notice a big difference between the two. I would look into it and just go with whichever one you can get the best deal on.
If you are going to be running high boost I've heard teh 6.0's can separate, but if you're running that much boost you should shell out the money for a Spearco anyways.
Are you talking about the 1.0 housing? If you are I'd stay away from it, your engine temps will sky-rocket...
If you're talking about the turbo wheel from banks, it's the same one we have stock...
Steve, I am thinking I can't PM you. I have tried. I am interested in the Banks #41300 compressor outlet.
You can't pm until you've got like 25 posts or something. Try sending him an email or a message on his profile page.
Brown Falcon is right, if you're going to be hitting some higher boost in the future, the the plastic sided tanks have been know to seperate. The solid aluminum ones, whether it be Hypermax, Spearco, Banks, DI, ATS, factory ford, etc will hold more psi.
Jim, I am interested in the Intercooler, but I live in Fl and I see you are triyng to sell it close by if possible. For now I also am trying to find one close to me. If I can't will you be willing to ship it to me. Thanks. Larry
