i've only had it 3 weeks now and it won't start....no obd codes coming back....checked all fuses and relays...took it to 3 mechanics...they don't agree.....2 say fuel pump one says electrical problem but he doesn't know what!....wtf! took it back to dealer.....i paid for fuel pump...his mechanic is putting it in.............he won't promise that will solve the problem though..............if it doesn't ...i have no cash left...i'll have to tow it to my house and tinker until i figure out what the problem is....it ran fine no cut off or anything....went to store...parked came back no start....it cranked just wouldn't catch......didn't seem to be getting gas so i hope it is the fuel pump cause that's what they're replacing with the last of my cash
boy am I pissed!!!!!
its a v10..........yes tried the fuel shut off switch.........if the new fuel pump doesn't work will check out the crank sensor.... it cranks though....won't start.....starter sounds good.....don't smell gas so maybe the fuel pump diagnosis is correct.....tested relays getting juice......pump doesn't seem to be working.....mechanic thinks its they coil on the fuel pump.....i'll know by 2marrow...thanks guys.....i'll let you guys know if it worked in case some one else has this problem....ps. wouldn't i get a code on the odb for a crank sensor? i'm not getting any codes at all
If you still have the truck at home, give the gas tank a wack from underneath. That sometimes gets the pump going. Easier to tell then if it is the pump on its way out.
Did you try spraying some starting fluid into the throttle body. If it starts for a second then dies, you know you aren't getting fuel. If it still doesn't start, it is electrical. Your "theft" light isn't on when you crank the engine over is it???
I recently had a problem with an intermittent "No Start" that was the result of a failure of the key transponder sensor loop in the column. The key itself was fine.
it's alive! it's alive! thanks for all your help guys....it was the fuel pump....just my luck that the dealer i bought my ex from changed a lot of stuff....just not the fuel pump....which was a mission to change cause its in the tank.........no problems since fuel pump changed she's running great!!!
