Welcome to FTE. How new are the batteries? Have you checked and cleaned the battery cables? (remember the cables have 2 ends on them, clean them both) If voltage drops too low (like from a poor connection) or the engine doesn't spin fast enough, like from a bad starter, this could be the cause of your problem.
you can pull it out and have Autozone have it tested, or starter place . but chances are that it is the starter. go under the truck and phisically inspect it, my starter had one bolt broken off that holds it together,
and you can get one from fleebay from DB electric for a great price...
Sorry for the slow response. I forgot Pete likes to answer 4 times before I finish typing.
DB Electrical makes a nice replacement starter that is less expensive than the ones from the parts stores. You'll be surprised how much quicker it will spin the engine.
ill pull my starter out and have it tested also everbody else i talked 2 pointed to the starter i just heard about this site and wanted to check wit the pros thanks ill post my results later in the week
you welcome, and remember to disconnect both batts , before you start working on the starter, its always hot and makes nice spark show when shorted, and burns a lot of stuff.
and be safe out there Matt.....
