Anyone got part number and or make of the clock spring other then the dealer?
I search past postings and one said RockAuto in int body but there not listed there anymore all the local parts stores say dealer only.
Am i realy looking at $105 from the dealer for a truck with 185,000miles.
Might just pull the air bag relay and add horn button if that the case I'd rather fix it but darn thats $$ i don't have right now.
Yup found it just after i posted when the screen refreashed there was diffrent sponors on the page.
I think there the only ones that sell clock springs.
I spent the past two days trying to find one. Darn pitman shaft seal blow out sat and made a huge mess in the rented garage driveway
Thankfully i had a box ready to go in but its not easy to do by your self on your back in the mud and oil.
I've got a 96 that I bought to canabalize to fix the one I wrecked. I don't know what a clock spring is, but I bet I have one that I don't need anymore.
Behind the steering wheel in the plastic box that contains the turn signal switch, ignition switch and tranmission selector arm. It's a donut like thing with a coil wire as I recall. I have seen them on ebay, but they are just as expensive from China on ebay as using 1ATony.
I know what you're talking about. You don't want your kid in the truck turning the steering wheel when you have the steering shaft unhooked from the steering box. Thanks.
