Yeah, the trac-bar/steering leave a bit to be desired.
The chain I have no idea, unless it's to try to counteract the torque of the motor or something like that - in which case it looks pretty weak.

That rod end with the holes in it is going to BREAK right across a hole!

Did he just bolt a Ford Body onto a Dodge Frame? It looks like it...
I don't like the look of the Trac Bar... Apart from that, pretty cool truck.

Chains are usually placed like that "just in case" the driver's motor mount breaks at high torque. It does nothing unless.

that is a ford 2wd frame, mine looks just like it, the chain might be a hood lock? but it looks like a nice truck....key word looks
