antifreeze question
I have a 02 7.3 Excursion...I just sent this truck in at 133k miles for a major service including all new hoses. I had been running the factory clear/yellow antifreeze, when I was checking it over a day after getting it back and the shop has closed for a 10 day vacation, I noticed he had added green fluid. My question is...is mixing these to differant fluids together going to cause any problems? thanks

I don't know about that, but I DO know that I wouldn't want the green antifreeze. You have to add SCA's and you have to check it periodically with test strips. The Gold antifreeze you don't have to. I would take it back and tell them to change it to what it had in it when you brought it to them. That stuff isn't cheap either. From the dealership, the Gold is $28 a gallon.

Not really, but you lose the ELC capability of the Gold. The Gold coolant is a hybrid-OAT, which means you don't have to check the SCAs like you do with green, and it's good for 5 years/100k. I'd take it back to them and make 'em flush it on their dime & replace it with gold. They screwed you over on that deal.
