Military New Cars Sales.....Good Deal?
I currently have an order in through Military New Car Sales for a 2010 FX4 Screw, and I'm not sure if it is really a good deal. The vehicle is set for delivery when I get home in Nov '09. I have no obligation until I drive it off the lot. I've got it fully loaded with bed extender and cargo management system. MSRP is listed as 46,067, my milquote price is 42,582, minus the rebate of 3250= 39,332. That should come down when the uplift comes off, and also I will continue to qualify for any increases in the rebate that occur between now and delivery.
I'm no expert when it comes to buying vehicles. There is no emergency as my truck back home still runs. I have limited means of researching, basically limited internet access and that's it. How do I know if this is a good deal? It's supposed to be no haggle, but I'm sure there's some wiggle room as I've got him to bring off 500 already. What can I use as a bargaining position? I went to edmonds and there is limited info on the '10 150 right now.
Thanks.

Yes you are getting a good deal. I have purchased 2 vehicles ( 03 Escape / 09 STX ) through ENCS and have no complaints at all. Also, they offer price matching, and increasing rebates as the time gets closer to signing your contract. Great customer service and good luck with your new '10.

It's a good deal but others on this site have gotten better. I have ordered a vehicle through AAFES before. I found out later that others had gotten better deals.
The advantage of ordering through AAFES is that you pick exactly what you want and don't want on the vehicle. That's a huge plus in my mind.
Yes you can order what you want through a regular dealership but you aren't going to get as good of deal compared to a vehicle already sitting on the lot.

basically you are going to pay Invoice - Rebates
decent deal...not bad, but not great either
That is the highest priced FX4 I've ever seen/heard of. Have you considered bumping up to a Lariat/Platinum?
might actually be slightly cheaper since you'll get a package deal for the goodies vice paying for them at a higher rate to install into a FX4

The FX4 is a great package and is unique among other F-150's. As previously stated, the lariat may get you some more goodies that could be standard with the trim level but you'll sacrifice the E-locker, black leather and other FX4 unique goodies.
Bottom line is, if your satisfied with the deal, then it's a good deal, period. Get what you want and don't look back.

When going through any type of a buying service, your going to get a good deal but sometimes good old fashioned horse trading can net you a larger discount.

Another option being a service member is to go through USAA. You can build the truck you want and USAA emails out your request to all of the surrounding dealers. They try to find the truck that matches your request. If your flexible on color and options this is the route I would take. I believe USAA guarantees a price below invoice but I was able to do better than that.
I got a 2009 FX4 Screw with every option minus the 20" wheels which stickered for 46k. I got it for 38k.
I've purchased new vehicles and motorcycles through AAFES and the USAA method was much easier. I had a dealer contact me with in 20 minutes of submitting the request.

The major benefit to that service is this: If your unsure of where or how to negotiate a substantial deal on your own USAA and most other buying services gives a great starting point so you definately won't get screwed. That's why I urged my daughter to use them as she's only 21 years old.
Don't get me wrong sir, 38K is a great deal.

So - what does the loan look like? Is the term less than 4 years? What's the interest rate? I'd be most concerned with the finance charges in any deal like that - if the price is a happy one there can always be a problem in the loan itself that doesn't become obvious until MUCH too late.
