Truck wouldn't start today. Found that the DP Tuner control switch had been knocked off. Put it back on and found that a little dot lighted up but that the program number remained blank. Attached it the other way (upside down) and got nothing, not even the little dot, which proves to me that it was attached correctly the other way.
Truck won't start in this condition (program reverts to position 0, no start, if the control switch is absent). Any tips for troubleshooting this?
Most rotary switches use resistors to tell what it's controlling the position or place you have set. You might be able to back probe the switch to get the resistances to find the position is it's in or which ones are hi/lo.
My first guess would be no connection for the no start position.
From Jody's site:Q:I just installed my chip and the F5 switcher does not illuminate. What is going on?A: It could be 2 things. 1st-Unplug the switcher. Turn it around and look at the line up of the cable notches. Verify that the cable is lined up correctly. The notch will be be down on the switch and up on the chip. 2-The chip has a default program we call POS. 0. If you the switch in POS. 0 there will be a dot the color of your led light color illuminated in the bottom right corner of the LED display. Press and hold the left button for 3 seconds and you will be back to switch on the fly mode.

Jody doesn't use the old style rotary switch anymore. He developed the F5 chip and digital controller a few years back.
