Transmission drain plug tip

I drained and refilled the fluid and changed the external filter on my 5r110 transmission today for the third time in three years today. This time when I tried to remove the plug it just spun. The pressed in thread insert in the pan broke loose. It was not over tightened last time I put it in because after 25 years of working on vehicles I have gained a pretty good feeling for "snug is tight, and tight is stripped" when it comes to threads. I had to drop the pan and weld the insert and now all is well. When it comes to this transmission, don't use more than "wrist tight" when tightening down the drain plug!
