Muffler delete question

When I bought my truck used it came with a 4" Banks turbo back and a straight thru design muffler, wood I see any or significant drop in EGT by deleting the muffler, or is it not worth it?

No. The big difference has already been made. It'll just change the sound somewhat and might cause more drone. What intake do you have on it?

EDIT: Ooooo.... 9,000 posts!!

Oh and my intake is the factory air box, used to have an Air research or somethin like that that was filthy when I got it so I just put a new purolater filter in. Was all set to put the filter set up ya'll run in then read Genes post and aint sure now.

You might see a little lower egt's if you swapped in a bigger CFM filter. Also, a 1.0 exhaust housing drops it also.

Yeah, the EGTs go down with a little better intake. Try the 6637 and see for yourself (clay can hook you up) -- you only have $30 to lose, and you can go back to something else if you don't like it. No permanent changes are made to run it.

I really miss Melbourne. Especially the Wednesday night car meet over at Doubles Hoagies!! That was A LOT of fun!! I used to hang there when I had my '84 Mustang GT. It was fun seeing people look at my car and think it was a 302. I had a bored 351W in it. Not too many folks could pick out that it wasn't a 302.

So when exactly did you live here and when did you hang at Doubles, that was my home away from home on Wednesdays. Rick, Smiley and I threw plenty empty beer bottles on top of Carlos roof after closin time .
I had the white 87 Formula with the 406 that I built with Cal Hartline, spanked most every one cept for Cal
