AC compressor

I have 07 screw. noticed that the mpgs dropped and then noticed that the compressor was not cycling. took it in and the ford house said that it is the ac control unit. i have some serious doubts about this. what do you think

What are your doubts? If I understand your post correctly your saying the compressor stays on! If that is the case, Yes your milage would go down as the drag would be constant and not sporadic. Could be compressor clutch or ???? Turn off the AC, dont use the defrost (that engages the compressor) and see if your milage changes. You did not say what model you have, the Lariat has the auto temp feature which I have had problems on the last 3 lariats that I have owned.

Thanks for responding. I have a 07 Screw XLT with manual air. My doubts lie in their diagnosis. I am leaning more towards the clutch instead of the control unit. We will see as I take it back to the Ford house
