does anyone out there know how to replace a drivers door on this 1994 f150 truck????......i have a new door shell, but just don't know how to put it on & don't have the equipment like a body shop to hold up the door while i put it on & just an empty door with no parts installed is quite heavy........any & all help on this matter would be greatly appriciated..............by the way does anyone know of any over the counter rust proofing that can be done at home..........web sites........stores........etc............thank you......................
eastwood sells rust encapsulator, I like it and have had good luck useing it. best way to hang the new door, is to take the front fender off. unbolt the door hinge out of the door side. hold hinge side of door with one hand, open door with other hand and take it off the truck. put your hardware from your old door into the new one, pick it up, close it, put the bolts back in the hinges, re hang your fender, all done
Have anywhere where you've got exposed rafters/ceiling joists/etc.? How about a sturdy tree branch overhead? Rope tied at each end of the window frame on top, hoist it up. Either that, or stand it on a crate(crates if necessary) or adjustable saw horses, with someone keeping it from falling over while you line the bolts up.
I've only ever taken doors off, not on, but that's how I'd do it.
Paint on bed liner like Herculiner is a good way to rustproof... well... anything.
doors are a grade a pain in the a$$ to hang there realy isnt any easy to do just grap a buddy a case of beer and any thing to hold the door up cause they shure aint light
