More Help Please

So a couple of you guys have guided me down the path to getting me up and running but I have really done it this time.

After discovering my wiring harness was burnt up and one GP failed I got all parts to fix it today and went to take out the failed GP, as you might guess it seperated and left the element in the hole. After letting it soak and wiggling it for awhile it apparently got loose as it has now fallen into the cylinder.

My question now is, does the turbo and fuel cansister and/or HPOP need to be removed to pull the head off to get the GP out.

This project is really starting to get to me, I guess I am really learning alot though. Again thanks for everyone's help.

I don't believe you would need to pull the charger and fuel canister but it would probably make things easier. I don't believe you'd have to pull the hpop?

Sounds like your in pretty deep. Those plugs can be a real pain sometimes. Since you have the head off I'd do some R & R on the fuel system and probably the turbo.

What bank is the tip stuck in?

Are you really, really sure it has dropped into the cylinder?

Its the front on the drivers side. I am sure it dropped, i had enough up to grab with some needle nose vice grips and was pulling and wiggling with those trying to get some PB Blaster down to the tip and at one point my pliers slipped off and it dropped.

Also i am reading that the injectors need to come out to remove the head. Is this true, if so what's the reason?

Reading that made me cringe. Bummer. Don't think you can get to the head-bolts without removing the injectors and associated hardware. But I'm going from the Service manual. I suggest All Data.
