correct me if i'm wrong

ok i am trying to understand how the engine management systems work on these trucks from my understanding the truck reads a signal from the MAP sensor telling a computer how much boost the engine is making then in return the computer adds or subtracts fuel??

so if a truck had a dusted turbo that had stage II's and a chip could the dusted turbo be the reason the truck does not really come alive to 2200 to 2300 rpms?

MAP is manifold air pressure.

There is a boost sensor also I believe.

You wont get any boost till about 2k rpm's anyways.

There is no boost sensor, the MAP uses a voltage signal to tell the PCM what boost the truck is making. More boost = more MAP pressure.
No boost till 2k rpms? Oily sheet, that would suck!
The dusted turbo could easily be the reason you aren't making good power down low... it's not gonna do its job right until you replace or rebuild it.

You should see a couple pounds under 2k, but she will really light at or above 2k.

Are you assuming the turbo is dusted or is it really dusted?

MAP sensor is the boost sensor. MAP utilizes a varying frequency .. about 110HZ no boost to > 200 Hz full boost. PCM uses MAP signal to determine fuel delivery. X2 on the dusted turbo issue.

yeah the turbo is dusted and has a few chips out of it but it does not have any play in the journals or bearings or whatever it has
