Will a ZF bolt to a NP205?

Will a ZF bolt to a NP205?
I have a 79 F-250 4x4 that I have torn down to the frame. It currently has a C6 mated to NP205. I would like to swap in a newer, manual heavy duty tranny with an OD. Has anyone tried bolting a ZF to a 205? Also, what is the case length of a ZF from rear to front of bellhousing? Thanks for the info.

Will a ZF bolt to a NP205?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 12-Nov-01 AT 10:31 AM (EST)]I'll tell you what I have learned from doing a 5 speed to 4 speed swap recently.
I believe the ZF and the M5OD have the same output configuration. I'm assuming this because they were used interchangably in late model F250's. My swap consisted of removing a bad M5OD from an '89 F250 and putting in a NP435 from a late 70's 4x4 truck (78 or 79, not sure which). My '89 has a BW1345 transfer case, this bolted up to the NP435 perfectly.
So, here is my thereoy: Most Ford (fullsize) 4x4 trucks used the same output shaft and bolt pattern configuration (unless it is a divorced transfer case). So, my guess is yes, the ZF will hook up to the NP205. I also know that the M5OD is about 3 inches longer then the NP435, so (I'm assuming again), the ZF would be about the same (around 29 to 30 inches).
If I am wrong, someone, anyone, please feel to correct me.
Roger

Hey man, I was wondering if your swap worked. I am currently in dire need of a C6-NP205 adapter. If you need an NP435 adapter, I have one. I will swap you straight out, or even pay you for yours. If you are interested shoot me an email.
