Out of curiosity I was wondering how long it took you guys to modify your truck after buying it.
And not a simple modification like switching out headlight bulbs, but a decent modification.

How long did it take, and what was your first mod?

Mine was 11 months and 2 weeks after I bought the truck and it was a 2.5" Rough Country leveling kit, EGR In-Channel Rain Guards, and an AFE Pro-Dry S Air Filter.

 

1 month: Magnaflow Catback Exhaust, AVS Window Vents (<500 miles, still had Dealership plates)
2 Month: Volant CAI (about 1,000 miles on the ticker)
1 Year: 2.5" Leveling Kit
2 Year: DIY Black Heads, Recon Clearance Lights, RoushCharger
2.5 Year: Painted Exhaust Tips, Painted Flares

2.75 Year: Final Mod - Sold

TINT,In-dash DVD, 1000w 4ch amp, 1200w Mono ch, Memphis M-Class 6x9s all doors,10"x2 Memphis M-Class Subs, Downfire Box (worked at a car audio shop...it helped)

This year:
PIAA Bulbs, AEM CAI, Edge Tuner, 325-65r18 TGs that rub..kinda....

Second day I put glasspacks and the intake mod. One year went with 33 inch tires and window vents. Two years got superchips.

 

Bought my truck in Februrary of 08 and in April of 08 had 33/12.50/17 tires and rims then June 08 Rear Add A leaf July 08 3" leveling kit September 08 Sct x3 December 08 Stainless steel bull bar with 2 130 watt Pro Comp off road lights.

 

In the first month I had it I did aCervini's hood, leveling kit, catback exhaust and a Rhino liner and before I had it a year I tossed the leveling kit and did a 6" lift with 35's

 

Got my truck in August of 05

1st Month- later added tint and tonneau cover

3rd Month- Got new wheels and BFG Tires

6th Month- Got Alpine Head Unit and Pioneer Speakers all around

1 Year- Got 2.5" Leveling Kit

1.5 Year- Carriage Works Billet Grille

2 Year- Airaid Intake and Flowmaster 40 Exhaust Before Rear Tire

3 Year- Custom Tuning (SCT XCal 3) By Bama Chips

4th Year- (This Summer)- Adding Towing Mirrors and maybe a Scanguage 2 (Will post pictures when I get it done...)

Bought my 2004 FX4 May first of this month.

First thing I did was order a tonneau cover, window vents, and had the front windows tinted. rears were factory.

Second thing I did was, this was 2 weeks later, I ordered a Edge Evolution and a Banks CAI and installed them.

The first of June I ordered the 5100 series Bilsteins, and I'm waiting for them still, coming from BC.

And last but not least, I stopped at the local Ford dealer and picked up a full set of F-150 floor mats (black) they look really good in there. Last owner took the old one's.

Can't spend anymore money till the wwwwiiifffeee is out of town. If you know what I mean.

Only thing I have done so far is have a an alarm with remote start put on.

Next will be a muffler(thinking wicked flow but want to hear a sound clip of one not on a friggin honda)

Thinking about dual electric fan kit from Troyer. Modify my intake some once I get a tuner.

Want to get headers and dual out the side.

 

Also looking at the Hella light grill vs bull bar and lights...black out my headlights or just buy some black headlights...bedliner of some sort and cover...maybe pull the seats and headliner to dynamat everything in the cab.

 

It took me a few hours before I had parts ordered.

 

IIRC the first or second week after i bought my truck i installed 1 chambers and tips, tint, silver star headlights, and wheels. Last Christmas i installed my vent shades. About 3 months ago i installed my 2.5" leveling kit and 305 nitto a/ts. In the near future im taking the black trim piece off the front and replacing with a smooth white one to match the truck.

 

Second day I had it the front windows were tinted!
