NP435 thrust bearing
Hey guys, I took apart my NP435 tranny and found my thrust bearing between the input shaft gear cluster and the 3rd gear and 4th gear synchros was mangled and all the bearings were in the bottom of the casing. I went to the parts shop tonight and asked them about it and they said that the part is obsolete and he's gonna have to look in dealerships all over Canada because it's an OEM part. I was just wondering if any body out there would have this thrust bearing. Any help finding one would be greatly appreciated.

Thrust bearing is still available. Parts people must not know what they are looking for. Bearing is available thru Federal Mogul Corp. (BCA bearings).
If You wish to install a brg. kit in the N/P 435. Industry part# is
T127. The T127 will not have the correct rear seal in the kit for the F250 chassis. Going by memory, try National# 410059.
N/P 435 is a very easy trans. to rebuild and parts in the USA are reasonable--I wouldn't think they would be very expensive in Canada either.
You might try http://www.lightruck.com for a Canadian dealer close to You. Another part which will make a high mileage New Process trans. shift better is N/P part# 94906. 94906 is a tune-up kit for the shift stick. 1923518 ( plastic insert for 3-4th shift fork) and 2514621 (insert for low & 2nd fork--some use plastic inserts on 1-2 and some don't); These insers will probably need replacement
.
If Your mainshaft Low gear has (2) spring like clips inside of gear (where it rides on the mainshaft); it is not necessary to re-install these spring-like clips.
Caution: Re-set input shaft endplay when replacing input shaft cup and cone. This is achieved by installing or deleting gaskets under the I/S brg. cap. I hope you didn't destroy your old gasket, most are re-useable when replacing I/S brg. (providing it is not ripped or torn). I usually set I/S end-play to approx. .003"-.005" wiggle (up and down). I have sucessfully built hundreds of these 435's.
Good luck, Gearman:-)

NP435 thrust bearing
Gearman, THANKS ALOT!!!! it's taken me FOREVER to find any kind of info for the n/p 435, i've looked all over the net. I couldn't find any diagrams or nothin so I had to put it back together by memory. I"m still waiting on that thrust bearing, there' s a bearing company in town and I gave him the part # and he cross referenced it and it'll be in by monday. and it's ONLY 3$!. WELL I'm just waiting for that bearing, speedo gear and those plastic inserts. I got most of the slop out of my shifter by putting a piece of rubber hose on the end over the little bump. I don't know how long it's gonna stay on there , I don't imagine it'll hurt anything if it doesn't. Again, thanks alot for your wealth of info. Keep on truckin.
