Running Rich?

I am getting a large puff when I leave from a light, or hit the throttle. I removed all tunes, replaced the EGR. Any ideas??

Any cylinder codes popping up? Or any codes at all(from professional scan tool, not just a tuner/code reader).

How are you hitting the throttle? Full force or is it more of a "normal" tap?

FICM or ICP might be going hinky or something with the PCM. I'll have to take a look at what material I have when I get back from the barn and see if I can think of something else.

Well, I did a VGT relearn, I did not hear the turbo pitch change. Guess turbo cleaning time!

Check to make sure none of your CAC hoses have tears..Especially the hot (pass side) boot to the I/C.. Could also be your turbo starting to go out..

While you're doing that, see if there is any "play" in the turbo.

You'll probably lose the whistle if you get a new center section..If you value the sound, be careful when you order new parts... Also, the VGT actuator may be getting weak...

I just went through all this during the past month..Mine wasn't performing well..I would get the puff of black smoke on take off (stock tuning).. Ended up being turbo and weak VGT solenoid.. New center section and solenoid installed..No more whistle..The I/C blew up during the test drive after the turbo parts were replaced..With this new stuff, the turbo spools very quickly, but it's dead quiet..All three of these new stock componants are supposed to be "updated" parts.. Center section more resistant to sticking/binding, stronger solenoid, and better crimps on the I/C tanks..

Towing trip and some racing scheduled for this weekend.. We'll see..

I noticed some blue smoke when I added 2-stroke oil, any chance you're running that?
