AMERICAN MADE jack stands

Where can I buy real jackstands? I went to harbor freight, northern tool and sears yesterday. Nothing but chineese made junk. No way I would trust my life to those. Where Can I buy good ones?

I don't think you will find any jack stands made in the USA right now.

No I didn't think of that. My FIL has some older snap on ones that you could build a house off of, I don't think they are made like that anymore.

This might sound weird, but somewhere I have a write up on making your own. You buy American made steel and fire up the Miller (made in America) welder.

hehe- if you could balance it, a 5 ton jack would support the whole truck!

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner!

That's what I did. Not only did I get American made jackstands, but I got paid to do it as I did it at work. Cannot get more American than that.

Ha!

Nothing personal here against anyone but that is part of what is wrong in America. $110 for ONE jackstand? Are they nuts? Any other country in the world can import the material, make the product, export it, sell it for HALF that cost and STILL make a profit.

Sorry. Rant over.

Carry on lol

I see your point Jay.

I would make em myself too, but then they would be Canadian jackstands, would have a metric ton capacity, or something like that haha!

Don't get me wrong. I would prefer to buy American but things are either virtually impossible to find or ridiculiously expensive. Why can't we make it for a reasonable price?

Sorry about the hijack.
