Ok this is going to sound really strange. While washing my truck last night, I cleaned the rims good, and rotated the dial from auto to manual, when I rotated back to auto the FORD in the middle of the dial blew soap bubbles at me. I repeated on the same hub and it did it again, then checked passenger side did it then too. Never when moving from auto to manual only after manual to auto.
I have not had any trouble, and Im not looking for any, 2007 PSD, 60,000 miles, had been parked over an hour but temps have been above 100 degrees for 10 straight days. Someone please tell me its normal.
Does the 07 have the same ESOF s earlier trucks do? If so, maybe you got leaky o-rings, and the heat from your brakes and hubs caused water to get sucked in the hub mechanism (like on a boat trailer) and when you turned the lock it allowed pressure (built up by heat0 to blow the water back?? Or maybe I'm just talking crazy here LOL...
Thanks ! instead of a white line on my 07 there is the word FORD etched into the handle it must be perferated to be a vent, bubbles only in the letters not around the edges. I was just surprised when it happened.
I happened to have pics of the hubs. The first is the AUTO/LOCK hubs from a 2009 Super Duty. Are you saying the white/silver "Ford" lettering is a vent for the hub?
Similarly, here is a pic of the FREE/LOCK hubs from a 2009 Super Duty. I noticed the "Ford" lettering is black. Must this mean that the manual hubs are not vented?
