COP rebiuling or testing

I thinking my 05 exp has a bad COP, but dont know which one. There is no error codes. I checked Autozone and they want $50 each for them. Is there a way to test them or rebuild them myself?

Thanks

Matt

You can buy a set of 8 on e-bay for about $100, I think they are selling individuals as well. I know there are ways to test, if you search the forum you'll find lots of info on cops and some posts contain testing diagnostics.

While one of mine was going bad - didn't know at the time the slightly rough idle was the symptom, it got worse one day and started to stumble on acceleration. I pushed the pedal more to merge into traffic and the code set. I didn't stomp on the gas, just caused it to downshift one gear and that set the code. Code gave me the cylinder number and I then replaced the one COP - now the idle and power is better.

Hope this gives you an idea

Mike

"pushed the pedal more"

This is the only way you'll get it to throw a code. The engine has to stumble for a certain period of time before it'll throw one.
