Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knew how much slip there is on a C6 transmission. Obviously a manual transmission has zero slip once the clutch is fully engaged. An automatic has slip through the torque converter, but what sort of slip would be considered normal? I guess what I am asking is with non locking converters what is the difference in engine rpm and transmission rpm on a properly operating automatic transmission.
Thanx for any info
Tom
TC slip is going to vary a little depending on the amount of torque your engine puts out. Above 2000 rpm with a stock converter you shouldn't slip much more than 300 rpm under full throttle. If you have a smallblock it may even be less.
300 RPM, that is a little better than I thought. Where did you get that number? I am not doubting it, just looking for a good source of information, Thanks for the reply.
