Get a new thermostat installed.Be sure to get the right design. When you get squared away, post back with your results and let's see what happened.Be certain about the fan,and about the air flow through your condenser.

Montana, not trying to step on your post about the Motorcrafts.Another poster here awhile back said he had talked to two different Ford dealers in his area about this thermostat, and that was the information he was given.I used to purchase them at rockauto myself, but they have been discontinued there as well.I know you can purchase them at Amazon, but the shipping is almost as much as the part.

I gave you the Stant part numbers, and Montana Highboy gave you the Motorcraft numbers. These are a specific style thermostat for the 335 series engine which you have.

AutoGiant.com still sells them for 6 bucks, but like you said it will cost you another 5 or 6 bucks just to ship it.

How old is the coolant? Is it 50/50?

Motorcraft RT139 (192f) went obsolete a few months ago.

When looking for a thermostat, you need to find a thermostat that has the extra pellet that sticks out when the thermostat opens. Don't buy one without it.

What type of A/C? Dealer, aftermarket, or factory integral? How's the fan clutch?
