6.9 engine on Ebay
Found a 6.9 engine on ebay today. Minimum bid $1000 and they were taking a turbo off first.
Searched under 1985 F250
Is that a fair price for a 6.9 with 140,000 miles on it? Seems a bit high, I have seen whole 6.9 trucks for about $1500 on ebay and craigslist....

If it actually only has 140K on it, that is still a low mileage engine.
And that price is below what salvage yards in my area charge, but they do have a 90 day to 6 month warranty on the engines, depending on which yard you buy it from.
Early 1985 blocks could have the thin casting above the block heater which is prone to cracking if you use the block heater though.

I wouldn't pay that kind of money. I just picked one up with tranny, starter, hydraulic clutch cylinders, and power steering pump still hooked on it for $250 and probalby about the same amount of miles as that one. And bought one a little while back with a C6 tranny on it for $400. Just keep looking..you will find a deal at some point.
