How rare and desirable is this motor? What can you tell me about it? What is it worth? I ask because he said to make him a offer on it. He said it doesn't need to be rebuilt. I might go get it this weekend or something. Thanks.
One in good enough condition to be runnable without a rebuild at this point is probably pretty rare.
That said, I don't think these bring any huge price premium. Millions served, most in the 460 flavor. And while the 11:1 is great, I noticed today 100 octane gas is $7.99/gallon here.....
85e150, where do u live that 100 octane gas would cost that much? Around here, I can get 91 octane for about 2.75/gal. However, I only live about 250 miles from a refinery, so I could probably get the good stuff for it.
It's sold as "racing gas". 91 at that station is approx $3.30 IIRC.
It's the only place I've seen 100 octane around here, but then I don't go looking, there must be more places....
Gas is going back up again up here also. It sucks big time! I have three gas stations in my area and they price their gas within 10 cents of each other. The Cenex station has the cheapest gas so I buy from there. I don't know if your familiar with them. The other two are Conoco and Sinclair. From what I hear, Sinclair is supposed to have the best quality gas. I haven't used either one. But I haven't had a problem with the Cenex.
