What's the difference between the two trims? On my truck's original sales receipt from 1997 (I did not buy it new, the bill of sale was with the truck manuals), it's put down as an XLT Lariat; however on the interior trim, it just has XLT (the fenders also just have XLT, but they (and the hood) were replaced by a previous owner for reasons unknown). It has the standard XLT options (PS. PDL, cruise, tilt, lumbar support in the seats). I'm just tryin to figure out the discrepancies between what the truck shows and what the BOS says.
There were no Lariat's in '97, just XL's and XLT's. The Lariat was not introduced until the '99 model year...

Maybe for the superduties... But I for one owned an F-150 Lariat that was a 1997 model year. The only difference between it and the XLT's was the leather interior, power seats, and a CD player as an option.

Being we are in the SD/HD forum I assumed we were talking about either a Heavy Duty F-250 or F-350, but you are indeed correct about the F-150 (and F-250 Light Duty as well). I too had a '97 F-150 Lariat...
