A/C coolant capacity

Over the years i have had various repairs on my 99 Exp EB A/C ( compressor, evaporator, hoses). Each time after doing a complete recharge I notice they only put 3 R134a 12oz. cans. That is 36 oz. and the plachard on the radiator cover says the system holds 62 oz. I asked the technician and he told me they only use three cans, that more will put a strain on the compressor. The A/C seems to cool fine with three cans but why does the manual say a capacity of 62 oz?

Spec for units without aux rear air is 37 oz.

With aux rear air should be 62 oz.

Do you have rear air? If not, 3 cans is close enough. If so, you're seriously undercharged.

Thanks, I have aux rear air so I am going to add a couple of cans.
