1. Ford 3.03 3-spd. (All synchro, 1:1 High)
2. 4-spd. OD (reworked Toploader?)
3. 4-spd. SROD (built by Clark?)
4. 4-spd. NP-435 (built by New Process; Granny Low, synchro 2-3-4)
5. 4-spd. Warner T-18 (Granny Low, synchro 2-3-4)
6. 4-spd. Warner T-19 (Granny Low, all-synchro)
7. 5-spd. Mazda M5-OD (3.90 First, .80 OD, integral b/h, POS)
8. 5-spd. ZF S-5 42 or 47 (Granny Low, OD top, good, integral b/h)
Be aware that you have to have the proper bellhousing (b/h), separate or integral, and/or the proper input shaft. I know that the 3.8L V-6, 300-6, and 255/302/351W shared a common bellhousing, 351M/400/460 used another. For added fun'n'games--some years had mechanical clutch actuation, later '80's used hydraulic.
There are probably more manny-trannies out there; and I have yet to see a T-19 in a light truck during the 80+ timeframe, though Ford does list in an early-'80's spec book I have, and to compound that confusion, I know that (International Harvester) extensively used T-19s in both close- and wide-ratio versions.

1. C6 - Probably Ford's most famous, durable, reliable and heavy duty auto trannie. It found it's way behind anything from 300's to 460's. Discontinued in the early 90's.
2. C3 - A light duty 3-speed. Was in some earlier Rangers and Bronco IIs.
3. AOD - A medium duty 4-speed OD. Was behind 300's, 302's, and some 351's.
4. E4OD - Replaced the C6. Is essentially an electronically shifted C6 with OD module bolted on. Nearly as tough as C6. Found behind anything in a truck, and possibly some larger cars, but don't quote me on that.
5. A4LD - Replaced C3. Same story as E4OD. Found behind 3.0's and 4.0's. Possibly in some cars, but don't quote me on that.
6. 4R100 - I don't know jack about this trannie, 'cause it's only been around a few years. It's got OD.
7. Others - On occasion, you'll find a more rare C4 or C5. These are both 3-speeds like their brothers, the C3 and C6. They range from light duty to heavy duty in ascending numericle order.
I think that Ford has a few others out there, but that should be the bulk of them.

I think there were vacuum and electronically shifted versions, but I believe all were designated A4LD

I think you'll be surprised twice!
Both of those transmissions use a combination of hydraulic and electrical shifting. The 1-2 and 2-3 are hydraulic, while the 3-4 is electronic.
In 1995 the A4LD changed to the A4LDE which was all electronic shifting.
