Axle Tag Decode

Heres' what the tag says:

S836F


3 08 88 4828
anyone have any ideas?

well..the 308 is your gearing and the 88 is the size of rear end you have..the ford 8.8" i would think..can't help on the other #'s

If I remember correctly, the S836F is the axle model number (if you go into the dealership to buy parts, they may ask for this number)

the 4824 is a production sequence number, kind of like a serial number to identify the specific axle you have.

S836F = Bronco/F150 '90-'96. 3.08 ratio, non-limited slip, 8.8 ring gear.

Date and plant code should be where the 88 4828 numbers are, but the decoder I'm looking at shows an alpha-numeric for the date code, so that does not match your tag.
