Ohhh ok makes since beings I went out earlier and looked for one and couldn't find it lol....so how do you fill the coolant after a change...through the degas bottle?

yup
leave the cap off so it can purge the air out of the system though.
How can a new cap solve the pucking problem? By increasing the pressure rating and stoping the relieving thru the cap. So now where is the excessive pressure going to exit? Thru the EGR cooler, head gaskets, hoses???
If the original caps were under rated, that's one thing. It this is a band-aid, using the 6.4 cap, to satisfy the customer is another. Maybe just buying time to most are out of warranty.

Just my thoughts.
Its a pressurized system....
If the cap is faulty which many of them are then its going to leak. Simple as that.
I agree, if the cap is faulty it may leak and puck under normal operation.
My point is what if the EGR cooler is starting to fail, for example, you may see pucking through a good cap, warning of an issue. If a better cap, higher pressure?, is installed you may not see pucking but the EGR cooler may fail, without warning, and ruin the motor.

Steve
When the stock cap fails it will no longer hold the normal 15? psi it was made too. If the EGR cooler fails it boosts the pressure far beyond that and will still puke. Also there are tests you can do when the EGR cooler fails that you should do if you start puking.
If the part number is 9C3Z-8101-A it would be the correct/updated part. The "updated" degas bottle cap is the same one used on the '08/'09 6.4L as well as quite a few other Ford engines...
I have the new cap after HG replacement. New cap has a ratchet, like your fuel cap, so you can't over tighten it. What I was told by my uncle (serivice mgr for ford) the old cap you can crank down too much, pinching the rubber seal and causing the system not to pressureize or when pressurizing blow by & leak on the degauss bottle.
